Causes and Risk Factors: 

  • Repetitive hand movements, especially when typing, writing, or using tools
  • Wrist injuries, like sprains or fractures
  • Inflammatory conditions, such as arthritis
  • Pregnancy, due to fluid retention that can increase the pressure in the wrist
  • Medical conditions, like diabetes or thyroid disorders
  • Poor posture or awkward hand positioning over time
